I would love to see a rule that you have to have a active player in your lineup not a player that is on the IL or a free agent. If you don’t have a player to fill that position leave it blank. Owners must check in 2 or 3 times a week (not hard to get on and check your lineups takes 5 to 10 minutes) checking proboards. Replace owners that just don’t get on that is not fair to anyone. This is a great league let’s make it better and have active owners. Just think how much fun we can have if we had 16 active owners.
Just think how nice it would be if you could send a message to a owner and you know he would see it and not have to wait months to get a answer if you get one at all.

Good points Alan, and I agree with them.

Agree that everyone should have an active lineup, every week. It’s not that hard.

Some things I am seeing is people not setting there rosters and not putting people in the lineups as a form of Tanking. To me this is completely unacceptable and should have a rule in place.
I have been watching this take place this year and is completely a slap in the face for the other teams that are being competitive and playing fairly by the rules.
Let’s work on a rule for this.

A couple comments here I’ll make, just my thoughts
1. In terms of activity on proboards, every owner has been on within the last 3 days at one time or another. Some may not have been on in a while, but the fact that everyone’s back is encouraging (to me, at least). There have been years where we’ve had owners totally fall off the map after a winter and they’ve been replaced the following winter. Hopefully everybody being online here is a sign that we won’t be doing any replacing this winter
2. Some owners have tons of time and can be on all day (or most of the day), others (like me) can only hop on for a few minutes here and there and try to reply to messages when they get them, and others have even less time than that and do what they can. I’m not looking to kick out the owners that we do have (when we already have 16 and they’re all on proboards at least) because there’s no guarantee that we’ll get somebody better. If someone’s able to be on once a week, or once every two, etc etc but they’re invested long term in their team then I’m fine with that.
3. On that same topic someone without the time to check in daily / set lineups daily doesn’t have the time to grind out every point and every start to win every matchup, which leads to
4. There’s no rule against tanking. There are rules in place that give cap incentives for teams that finish in the playoffs, win their division, etc. Someone choosing to tank is willfully deciding not to do that, to try and develop their prospects, to try and get better picks, etc. and I see nothing wrong with that. The Cubs tanked, drafted well, broke a 108 year drought in 2016. Astros did the same thing (with trash cans) in 2017. What’s wrong with hoarding 20 top prospects and not caring about this year to spend in a year or two and try to win then?
If we want to make tanking less attractive by putting some rules in place that’s fine. Just a thought, but a draft change to make things a lottery instead of a straight ranking based on worst record could work and I’m open to other ideas too.
