I propose that the order of the first round of the draft be decided in order of the rankings at the end of the season. Aka #1 gets the first pick, and so forth. I think it would do great in increasing competition throughout the league. I also truly don't believe this would at all alter the balance of the league by giving the top team too much of an advantage. One player is not going to single handedly win the league for a team. Since we're in fantasy and don't play for money I think it'd be cool if we essentially made better draft positions in the first round, the benefit of winning. I would say we could keep the last four rounds of the draft in the normal reverse of rankings order.
I'd be open to beginning this in the 2022 draft. 2021 would be too soon.

Rich getting richer isnt a great idea imo. Losing teams need as much help as they can get to turn things around and spinning the order around and giving them less valuable picks in favor of already good teams is going to increase the disparity.
We already incentivize winning with additional cap space which isnt nothing.
We've got to allow for ways for losing teams to rebuild and premium picks in the draft is an easy way.

I’m entirely in favour of the current setup for the draft. As said above, rewarding the championship team with the best prospect of that year (or the pick to trade for other pieces) just sets the last place teams further back.
As stated in the other thread, if teams are that worried about tanking I’m open to things that may take the appeal out of tanking for draft picks. Maybe a draft lottery for the 8 non playoff teams (still weighted towards last place teams) but not something that punishes them further by putting them at the end of the round. They’ll never get out of the basement that way.
