From my understanding of the rule this is the way it should look check with Taylor. You can sign a player for 6 yrs not 6 yrs total so with that said I would wait until 2028 to resign him so you can get more years. This way you only get 3 more yrs.

He’s signing him for 5 years on top of his existing deal, so this year / next remain the same (7.8) 2025 option is guaranteed (7.8) and the 5 year extension kicks in after that, see above |
