With a lot of new owners, a refresh of the bidding rules for MLB Free Agents is needed.
A few rules:
1. Can't make a bid on any prospect on the "Owned Prospect List" 2. Can't bid on any player not on the "Owned Prospect List" that is under the 130 AB / 50 IP prospect threshold. Once a player reaches this threshold and is not owned by any team as a prospect, they are eligible for bidding. 3. Max bid of $30 mill AAV (Annual Average Value) 4. Tiebreakers for multiple bids of $30 mill is number of contract years offered 5. Max number of contract years offered is 6 (or 5 + option) 6. Option years are only available for the last year of contracts, and must be specified in the bid 7. Bids are specified by AAV, not total contract value 8. For players where max bids are identical (i.e. teams both offer 6 years 30 mill) Waiver Order is used as tiebreaker. 9. Bids must increase by at least 100k increments 10. All bids are FINAL and binding. No editing bids after the fact, and if you win the player you're responsible for the contract. Can't back out / turn it down, so manage your cap wisely. 11. Final bids must stand for 24 hours before being declared the winner.
