Hey all -
I gave Taylor a heads up, and he suggested I announce my intentions over the league board, but after 9 years I'm hanging up my ownership/GM duties of the Royals/Orioles. As an original owner its been fun looking back at that initial 2013 draft and all that's transpired since. We survived a deadbeat commissioner that went AWOL on us where we had to pick up the pieces and reconstruct the league. We struggled with defections and even had to contract one reason, which was actually kinda fun with a contraction draft.
So its bittersweet saying goodbye after all this time, after having played with the majority of you for so long. However, my enthusiasm for this league has cratered and I dont have the energy to devote to it like maybe I once did and you all deserve better.
I figured I'd give you all a heads up to start looking for a replacement. I feel that I'm leaving the team in a decent spot for someone else to step in to take to levels I never could (zero championships in those 9 years). Maybe there's time for someone to step in and make some moves before the trade deadline. OR maybe you all can just find someone to step in during the offseason.
I'll continue to keep an active roster on ESPN until a replacement is found. But I'm not going to make any roster moves beyond that, including trades, though I'm sure I'll hear from a couple of you trying to fleece me on my way out. The new owner can take charge of that an make their own decisions.
Its been fun playing with you guys and I wish you all the best going forward.
