Should we have a rule in place as to how long a team has to pick up a player they won in Free Agency.
Should it be 48 hours, 72 Hours or 1 week? Thoughts?

All for it. I’m guilty of it most recently and also had it happen to me recently as well

This we be in effect for the whole season, starting at the end of this season. It will begin in the off-season and will include during Free Agency. So in effect it will be in effect all year long after the end of this season.

Side note question: If any owner fails to pick up their new Free Agent in that time frame, what would the consequence(s) be? Just something to throw out there:
Would player just go back in to free agency?
Would there be any cap hit to the team that fauled to make the pick up? etc

I like what Minnesota is talking about. There’s almost a potential incentive to not commit to a deal that you have in theory committed to. I feel like there’s gotta be some sort of penalty

We don’t need to make this difficult after 48 hours no pick up player goes to the next highest team bid

Honestly, i am working on the next phase of the rule, there will be a penalty for not picking up the player. Just working out what it will be.
Not sure what the cap hit will be just yet, but it will include a cap hit for all years the player was bid on not just one year. And i like Alan's suggestion that the player be offered to the next highest bidder. The next highest bidder can choose to sign the player to the bid that they put in or can refuse to without a cap hit.

Is this before the of the season starts or just during the season I know before the season starts we all try and get a roster put together. Plus ESPN does not put players on the IL till the beginning of the seasoning knowing that the player will begin the season on the IL could be a IL60. Which I had with Valdmir Gutierrez knowing he was going on the IL list. So I had a FA waiting to pick up and take his place as soon as the player was placed on the IL. Just saying and I know other teams we're guilty of this and waiting also.
I can see once the season starts then the FA player should be picked up ASAP
