For effect during the regular season:
Teams have up to 48 hours to pick up a player on ESPN after their bid officially wins on Proboards.
If necessary, teams must also make the necessary move (IL / release / demotion) on Proboards and on ESPN as well within that same 48 hour time period.
If the player is not picked up and / or no corresponding move (if necessary) is not made on Proboards and on ESPN the winning bid will be considered null and void and the next highest winning bid will become the winning bid.
If no other bids were placed on the player they will remain a free agent.
For effect during the offseason
Things are not as strict during the offseason because ESPN is not updating for IL players, is down sometimes during the offseason, etc. so there is no penalty for not picking up players right away - however - teams should still strive to follow the 48 hour rule as much as possible
Note: if teams repeatedly fail to make their pickups we will consider additional penalties - including possible cap penalties - if ncessary
