Hey, had a thought/idea. Not sure if this is already allowed or not but i’ll bring it to attention. Let me know what you guys think!
As we all know, there is a roster freeze during playoffs for non-playoff teams. Just a thought that if any teams release players during playoffs, non playoff teams should be allowed to use their waiver claims on such players if they choose.
Example: if i were to release Taylor Ward during the playoff run to free up a spot, the waivers shouldnt be limited to only playoff teams. Any non playoff team interested in him for next year could claim him.

Non playoff teams still try to win but are limited to what they have which I believe it’s not fair. Example if I was to lose Kim, I would have no third baseman at all. I believe this is the way it should be.
Playoff teams if they put a player up for bid only playoff team can bid on that player. 1 year If a non playoff team puts someone up for bid any team can bid up to 1 year.
This will sill give an advantage to playoff teams but will also let on playoff teams to keep their roster full of active players.

I would also add that I don’t think anyone that is bid on at this point can be someone’s RFA. Might already be part of that rule, I’m not sure.

Great point Jon. We need that as a rule for sure.
