I agree ... Triple Play was the other one that came to mind.

I like the RFA idea as well, but not sure if we want to have both RFA and QOs? In the end they're pretty close to the same thing, and could really decrease the turnover in free agency if teams are holding onto players because other teams don't have draft picks available to give up to sign a guy
I would also say that if we did QOs and / or RFA, I'd institute it in the 2022/23 offseason rather than the 2021/22 offseason. Teams gave up picks for this year's draft (and next) not realizing that this would be a possibility this year

i think RFA is the way to go, QO might get difficult as it will be easier to designate one person as an RFA and keep track of it.

My other league, just like this one, has owners that just love picks / prospects. The RFA system allows you to trade or trade for picks and more or less is independent of the prospect draft.

If I remember, it works like comp picks in between rounds.

You are correct ... what I meant to say was the QO, you need a 1st rd. pick to give back on the winning bid. RFA ... if you lose a player, you receive a comp. pick, depending on the the players grade at the end of the given round , but the winning bid just accepts the player and his contract, but does not have to give up one of his picks. Taylor was concerned about teams that have traded picks already, and my point was that doesn't really affect the RFA system.

Where do these picks come from? Sounds confusing sounds like a lot of work

Ok, this is very easy and very little work. Lets say you have 4 players on their last year of their contract you would like to keep. You use your 3 extensions and designate the 4th player as your RFA. That player would enter the FA draft just like he would have anyway. I win the bidding for him at lets say 3yrs / $1.M. Since he is your RFA, you can look at my winning bid and say that's good for me too and you keep that player at that price. Now, lets say you think he is not worth that, so you let me have him at that price. Since he was your RFA and you let me have him, you are awarded a "comp." pick for losing him. We use ESPN's top 100 preseason rankings for this. If said player was a top 20 player, you would receive a "comp." 1st rd. pick. That pick would be at the end of the first rd. If said player was in the next block of 20, you would receive a "comp." 2nd rd. pick and so on. It's close to what the MLB does.
